Hungarian code modernization AI startup Kodesage closes €2.3 million investment round
Kodesage has successfully closed its first, €2.3 million early-stage investment round. The company’s AI-powered platform revolutionizes and simplifies the modernization of large enterprises’ legacy software systems – all while maintaining high data security standards. The team aims to further develop the platform, accelerate its launch on international markets, and help even more large enterprises modernize their legacy systems with the investment. The investment round was led by PortfoLion, with the participation of renowned international angel investors.
Its solution to the unsolvable: the challenge of legacy systems
Kodesage aims to provide a solution to one of the biggest challenges in enterprise IT: mapping, operating, and modernizing outdated, legacy systems. These systems are tightly embedded in corporate workflows, carrying significant risks such as outdated technology, incomplete documentation, dependence on key people, and performance issues. Modernization is essential to remain competitive, as outdated systems can slow down systems, increase security risks, and increase maintenance costs.
Maintaining these systems requires constant updates, patches, and ad hoc solutions, which increases risks and costs. Market research also shows that the problem is urgent: Gartner reports that application modernization was among the top two priorities for bank IT leaders in 2023 and 2024, and the global market for modernization services is expected to reach $75 billion by 2032.
