Wendy’s may return to Hungary after 23 years

As we previously reported, after twenty-three years Wendy’s is preparing to return to Hungary.

The network, which operates more than 7,200 restaurants worldwide, primarily expands through franchise partners, and in recent years has regained momentum in the European markets as well.

In the United Kingdom, Wendy’s already operates 45 outlets, and this year the first restaurant also opened in Romania. Although the exact timing of the Hungarian launch is not yet known, the company has confirmed that it is actively seeking local partners to build and operate new Wendy’s restaurants.

To support this growth, we are actively recruiting franchise partners to build and operate new Wendy’s restaurants in Hungary. The fast-food chain’s return could spark great interest in the Hungarian market, as the Wendy’s brand has long been known to local consumers, who had already encountered it in earlier decades.
