Danone to Spend EUR 220 Million in R&D
In 2008, Danone plans to conduct 50 clinical studies, as the company shifts its strategy from biscuits and dairy products to health food products.
French
dairy and baby food company Groupe Danone SA plans to spend EUR220
million in research and development, compared to EUR140 million in
2007. Speaking at the company's annual shareholders meeting, CEO
Riboud said the 2008 R&D spending plan represents 1.4% of the
company's annual revenue.
