The producer price of wheat is 21 percent lower than a year ago
According to Tallage’s information in April, the spot market price of 12.5 percent protein milling wheat in Germany (FOB Hamburg) increased by $23 to $264/ton between March 6 and April 5. The immediate export (FOB) price of milling wheat arriving in Rouen was $6 higher at $216/ton at the same time.
In March, the price of wheat in France fell to its lowest level in three years, then joined the upward trend in the world market. Despite this, it is still not competitive with the Black Sea crop. Russia-produced 11.5 percent protein mill wheat (FOB) for immediate delivery was available at $201/t (+$11) and 12.5 percent protein at $210/t (+$8) on April 5 .
According to Tallage experts, no major changes are expected in French and Russian prices, although the latter may rise due to brisk exports
In Romania and Bulgaria, the spot market price of mill wheat per ton was 212 dollars (-6 dollars) in the indicated period. In the US, the spot export price of 12 percent protein soft red winter wheat (SRW) increased by $5 to $229/ton, while that of 11 percent protein hard red winter wheat (HRW) decreased by $2 to $265/ton. In Argentina, the spot export price of the crop rose by $14 to $232/ton at the beginning of April (Tallage).
In Hungary, according to AKI PÁIR data, edible wheat was traded at an average producer price of HUF 65.2 thousand per ton without VAT and transport costs in the third week of April. This price level is 21 percent below the previous year. Feed wheat traded for HUF 59.3 thousand/ton (-34 percent) at the same time.
