2021 was a year of action against cartels, but there was also attention to rapid inspections for the benefit of consumers
The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has published its Rapid Report summarising last year’s results on competition on the Hungarian market, which it presented to the public in the framework of an online professional conference. In 2021, the Competition Authority launched almost 25% more competition supervision procedures than the previous year, with 124 companies being investigated. The official work of the past year has highlighted the actions against cartels, the analyses and interventions related to the construction industry, and the detection of covid-19-related abuses in the interests of the Hungarian people.
