Hungarians purchased with cards in a record number at the end of 2018
The number of debit cards issued increased, while the number of credit cards declined in Hungary in the fourth quarter of last year – the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) announced on its website on Monday.
In 2018, the number of card payments exceeded 765 million, which is a 24 percent year-on-year. According to the data of the MNB, purchases increased to a record high of 5450 billion forints last year, which is a 23 percent increase compared to 2017. (MTI)
