Auchan can be profitable in 2014
Auchan Hungary Kft. closed last year with a 7.6 billion HUF loss, due to the significant tax burden, and the high amortization, but if the crisis tax will be terminated next year, in 2014, the company may have a positive result and with luck, this target may be completed already in 2013 – said Dominique Ducoux CEO at a press conference on Monday in Budapest.
In order to decrease costs, the company further reduced its operating costs, such as the packagings by 6 and the energy costs by 7 percent, but could not compensate the increased burdens – including the 4 billion HUF of the crisis tax –explained the CEO.
Auchan Hungary last year, reached a 230 billion turnover, which was a 2.3 percent growth, a few billion below the original target and the traffic growth rate was 1.6 percent lower than the annual inflation rate. (MTI)
