Employment and real wages increased in 2010
Last year, at businesses employing at least 5 people and at the budgetary institutions, an average of 2 million 702 thousand people was working, 1.5 percent higher than in 2009 – reports the Central Statistical Office.
During the same period, the gross average wages increased by 1.4, net earnings by 6.9 percent, compared to the previous year. Real wages (beside the 4.9 percent growth of the consumer price index) mainly due to the changes in the rules of the personal income tax rose by 1.9 percent. At businesses employing 5 or more people in January-December 2010, 1 million 827 thousand people was working, about the same as in the previous year.
