Lidl announces a price stop on 200 products
Lidl Hungary has reduced the prices of nearly 200 products since the beginning of the year. Thanks to the measure, the affected products can be purchased up to 25 percent cheaper, announced the market-leading retail chain in Hungary.
The company started a continuous and permanent price reduction from January 1, 2023, and has reduced the prices of about 200 products so far. The affected goods included, among others, cheeses and other dairy products, fruit juices, sandwich toppings, as well as mustard or even bacon. Thus, for example, the price of rice decreased by 11%, that of mixed flower honey by HUF 240, and the price of 400-gram round cheese by HUF 350.
“The result of a long and difficult negotiation period is that we managed to agree on more favorable purchase prices with our suppliers for many products. From January to now, we were able to reduce the consumer prices of 200 products, about half of which cost at least 5 percent less, and for nearly a third of them we reduced the prices by 10-20 percent We are constantly working to stand by the Hungarian people and families with more and more lasting price reductions in the coming months.”
– pointed out Judit Tőzsér, head of corporate communications at Lidl Hungary.
