165 billion HUF was spent on private label foods
The revenues of food retail chains from private label products increased in the first half of this year, compared to the same period of last year. With private label food products, the stores reached about 165 billion HUF turnover in the January-June period, while with household chemicals and cosmetics more than 26 billion HUF – shows the analysis of Nielsen.
According to Nielsen’s study, 45 percent of the surveyed Hungarian consumers bought the same amount of private label products as in the previous year. 17 percent of them bought less. Another 38 percent bought more private label products in the most recent period. Large part of them told that because it is cheaper than the products of the manufacturer brands.
