1,600 storm damage reports received in almost one day
K&H received a large number of home insurance claims by Tuesday evening due to the chain of thunderstorms that swept across the country in the previous days, the financial institution announced. So far, a total of nearly 1,600 victims have reported, but K&H experts expect more reports. The assessment of the damages has begun immediately, and according to preliminary estimates, the amount of damages paid may exceed 200 million forints. Most of the claims were reported by those affected from Budapest, Pest and Békés counties.
“Our claims experts are speeding up the administration in the affected settlements with on-site and video claims settlement. Now and in the future, we recommend that the injured parties carefully and as soon as possible document and report the damages, which they can do directly, easily and quickly, in the K&H Bank mobile application and on our online claims reporting customer portal 24 hours a day. The ongoing claims settlement can be easily tracked, and it is also possible to replace missing documents, so those affected can quickly access compensation”
– said Attila Kaszab, Deputy CEO of K&H Biztosító, regarding claims reports.
The expert also spoke about how last year 88 percent of home insurance claims were received digitally, while this year this rate has already reached 90 percent, so more and more people are choosing this claim settlement solution, adding that claims reporting, tracking claims administration, and managing the necessary documents are also available through K&H mobile bank.
