Aggregate grains crop is expected to be over 16 million tonnes
Hungary is likely to produce a record maize harvest this year, it could exceed 8 million tonnes. The maize crop last year dropped to just over 4 million tonnes due to a drought.
According to the information of ministry of Agriculture the grains crop came in at 8.6 million
tonnes this summer, while the wheat crop is at 5.6 million tonnes,
well up from just below 4 million last year. Around 60 percent of the
wheat is milling grade and the rest can be used for fodder and 1.5
million can be exported.
