In 10 years, Tesco delivered products equal to the weight of 15.5 Eiffel towers
The Tesco Home service celebrates its tenth birthday on March 21. The supermarket chain was the first among its competitors to provide the option of online ordering and home delivery, and in the past 10 years, starting from Budapest, it has reached 2.7 million homes in 874 settlements across the country.
“Thank you to our 427,000 online customers who placed nearly 4.9 million orders on our website and mobile app in 10 years, spending a total of more than 285 years doing so. I am proud of my colleagues, who have enabled the continuous development of the Tesco Home service, so that we can always stand by our customers even online for a decade. Our employees now prepare the online orders in our 35 stores across the country, selecting the goods with the same care as if our customers were to put them in their baskets themselves. Choosing from more than 12,000 products, from fresh food to pet supplies, our customers can request same-day delivery delivered right to their door, but if it’s more convenient for them, they can also pick up the products in person at one of our Collection Points during the designated one-hour time interval,” said Martin Coulam. , the operations director of Tesco Hungary.
