Gösser beer is 150 years old

For this occasion, the Gösser Breweries in Leoben held a beer festival to celebrate the anniversary. The thousands of people celebrating, but they could also taste Gösser’s anniversary beer.

The history of Gösser reaches back to old times – the Göss Abbey (celebrating its 1000th birthday this year) dealt with brewing as early as the 12th-13th century. Later the Gösser Breweries was founded on this site, which is still in the abbey’s neighbourhood. In 1860 Max Kober, an enterprising young brewer master founded the Gösser Breweries, which started off its successful career of modern times.
