Competition authority leaders from 15 countries met in Budapest
At this year’s first event of the joint Regional Competition Education Center (ROK) of the Economic Competition Authority (GVH) and the OECD in Budapest, the heads of competition authorities from 15 countries met to discuss the common challenges that arise in their daily practice. Csaba Balázs Rigó, president of the GVH, emphasized: “the Hungarian national competition authority forms a bridge between the European Union member states and emerging, developing economies, and our training center in Budapest, shared with the OECD, also contributes to this. We Hungarians believe in connection, not separation.”
The Budapest Regional Education Center for Competition (ROK), operated by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Economic Competition Authority (GVH), was established on February 16, 2005 with the primary aim of providing support for competition law based on the professional background of the two institutions. and in the field of competition policy by organizing competition law trainings and other professional programs for the competition authorities of Eastern, Southeastern and Central European states. GVH thus plays a leading role in the development of young market economies in the region. There are a total of three similar training centers in the world, the other two in Peru and the Republic of Korea.
