Carrefour France to hire 15,000 workers
Despite a downward revision of its results and replacement of José Luis Duran by Lars Olofsson as CEO, Carrefour will maintain its workforce levels in France.
Carrefour has announced plans to hire
15,000 people in France in 2009, to replace people who leave. "These
appointments relate primarily to shops and services to customers"
said Human Resources Manager Muriel Bolteau. She added that the new
jobs will be mostly long-term contracts and apprenticeships, a
departure from Carrefour’s recent strategy of fixed-term contracts
and hiring temporary workers.
