REWE International sales rise by 12%
Despite the economic difficulties, Rewe International plans to keep up its heavy investment plans with EUR500 million this year, EUR200 million of which are targeted for Austria.
Formerly Rewe Austria, which comprises
most of Rewe Group's operations outside Germany posted increased
turnover of around 8% excluding the acquisition of Austrian ADEG
effective 1 July 2008. The integration of ADEG, which is to be
completed by mid-2009, has strengthened its portfolio of independent
retailers, Rewe International said in a statement. ADEG accounted for
more than half of its 13% growth in Austria.
