Retail sales may be over 1,000 billion HUF in December

On the basis of the October data, experts would not be surprised if retail sales would exceed 1,000 billion HUF in December – Marczinkó Zoltán, Deputy Minister of State of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) told M1 news channel.

He recalled that, according to the data of KSH, published on Friday, retail trade expanded 2.6 percent in October, the monthly turnover was 853 billion HUF at current prices. However, the typical year end shopping fever starts just before Christmas, so the effect will be measured in the December data – he added. (MTI)
