Shell Hungary zRt., which is 100 years old this year, today opened its 100th Hungarian electric car charging station in the Shell Recharge network, providing nationwide coverage for electric car customers. Fast charging is also available at 65 of the 100 locations. The development of the national EV charging network in Hungary is an integral part of Shell’s strategy to support the energy transition.

With the launch of the 100th Shell Recharge charging station, customers can use Shell’s own EV charging network throughout the country, from Debrecen to Mosonmagyaróvár. The charging station opened today is located at the Shell well on the M7 motorway, next to Székesfehérvár, on the Budapest side, and has four high-performance charging points providing charging speeds of up to 300 kW.

Fast and convenient charging at Shell stations

Shell Recharge’s DC fast chargers, with a power rating of 50-300 kW, are designed for faster charging on the go and are now available at 65 locations in the Shell Recharge national network, primarily at Shell filling stations and at charging points in numerous Tesco car parks. Depending on the type, age and condition of the car, these chargers can achieve an 80% charge in up to 30 minutes. The fast chargers are well complemented by alternating current (AC) chargers in the network, which are ideal for longer parking periods, which is why they have been installed in supermarket car parks, where they provide simple and convenient charging during large purchases.

Individual customers can make payments quickly and easily using the bank card terminal located on the charging station, while business customers can pay for the charging using their Shell Hybrid fuel card. Furthermore, charging can be initiated across the entire Shell Recharge network with the service cards of numerous roaming partners.
