10 million redemptions in the MOHU REpoint system
The number of redemptions in the MOHU REpont redemption system has reached 10 million, the company announced on Saturday. According to the new regulations, from July 1, beverage manufacturers can only market their products in returnable packaging, so more and more such bottles, bottles and boxes are appearing on store shelves. In recent days, the number of redemptions has been over half a million per day, and by now there have been more than 10 million redemptions nationwide, which is constantly increasing.
New regulation and increasing redemptions
MOHU REpont machines have been available since January, which are mandatory in all stores larger than 400 square meters and recommended in all stores larger than 200 square meters. Currently, 3,000 points can be redeemed in machines, and 1,000 smaller stores have joined the manual redemption system.
Manufacturers were given a six-month grace period, but from July 1, they can only market their products in returnable beverage packaging. Nevertheless, we can still see non-returnable bottles, cans and bottles in stores for months to come. Packaging with a HUF 50 logo can be returned, and customers receive a HUF 50 exchange fee for these.
