The first series of LG’s revolutionary panel technology was launched 10 years ago
LG also presented its 2023 OLED product line in Hungary, which includes bendable display and design screens. The company has held a leading position in the OLED TV market for 10 years this year, and while it has already sold more than 15 million OLED TVs worldwide, it closed its most successful year in Hungary last year in terms of the category of OLED screens sold.
LG has been pioneering OLED technology for 10 years, which opened a new chapter in television in 2013. The innovative technology made it possible to produce displays where, unlike other panel types, the pixels do not need a separate backlight, thus the TV is able to display perfect black. In addition to the many advantages of the development, it made it possible to produce televisions with thinner and lighter panels than ever before, even with bendable or curved panels, which, in addition to the extremely realistic image and rich contrast, also provide perfect viewing from a wide viewing angle.
Since the release of the world’s first 55-inch Full HD OLED TV in 2013, LG has continued to expand the possibilities offered by OLED technology and has collected many accolades from the very beginning, including winning the CES Innovation Award for 11 consecutive years. At the end of last year, the company already exceeded 15 million copies of this display type sold.
