Food Avalanche is on again to help those in need
The winners of the famous Food Avalanche have been announced: this year, families in need coming from fourteen villages receive agriculture-related products which enables them to grow their own vegetables and fruits. Syngenta and Hungarian Food Bank Association has been supporting those in need for four years.
Last time Food Avalanche was launched, perishable food of more than 25 million HUF has been gathered within the compass of three-year-old Food Avalance charity action. The program was organized by Hungarian Food Bank Association and Syngenta, and they have distributed 10 thousand food-packages in 21 villages and towns, also in red-mud catastrophe-ridden Kolontár and Devecser. The food was distributed by local councils and foundations. I the first place, most packages went to the unemployed, old, those with big families and people living under the poverty line.
