A record potato yield was harvested in Székelyföld
The biggest potato production after 1989 was harvested in Székelyföld. In Kovászna county 28 tonnes per hectare, while in Hargita County 26 tonnes per hectare was the average yield.
Könczei Csaba, head of the Agricultural Directorate of Kovászna County told MTI on Tuesday that potatoes were cultivated on 13878 hectares in the county, up to now, about eighty percent was harvested with an average yield of around 28 tonnes per hectare, compared to an average yield of 20-22 tonnes of the previous years.
