OMÉK – The treasures of the Carpathian Basin
The National Agriculture and Food Exhibition and Fair is Hungary’s oldest and most traditional agricultural event. OMÉK is the biggest agricultural fair not only in Hungary but it is also one of the most prominent agricultural events in Central-Eastern Europe, expecting almost 100,000 visitors. The upcoming event will be held from 20 to 24 September 2017 in Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center and Kincsem Park. OMÉK is organized by Agrármarketing Centrum Nonprofit Kft. under control by the Ministry of Agriculture and with full governmental support.
Programs, main topics, novelties:
- This is the first year when the fair is extended with a professional day on 19 September organized by Agrármarketing Centrum and Agroinform.hu.
- As a novelty, the fair is awaiting children on the Kids’ Island. OMÉK is free of charge tor students and their teachers, subject to pre-registration.
- lnnovation and creativity is also in focus at the Ecotrophelia Hungary 2017 food innovation contest for students.
- On the Organic Island and market you can learn about the wide product range of organic producers and can also purchase delicacies from the shelves.
- The visitors will be awaited with a multitude of cultural events, including light music concerts, folk music shows as well as popular artists.
