The strongest economy in Europe has grown at a high rate
Germany’s GDP grew at the highest rate of the past six years in 2017, according to Destatis, the federal statistics agency.
According to Destatis’s first estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.2 percent in 2017, compared to last year in Germany. The German economy is growing for the eighth consecutive year and at the highest rate of the past six years. Analysts expected a GDP growth of 2.4 percent for 2017.
The pace of GDP growth will increase further. It was 1.9 percent in 2016 and 1.7 percent in 2015.
The German GDP growth rate in 2017 is 0.9 percentage points higher than the 1.3 percent annual average of the last ten years. (MTI)
