Hungary produces soy well below the demand
Hungary produces soy well below the demand – Gyuricza Csaba, Director-General of the National Center for Agricultural Research and Innovation told M1 news channel on Monday.
He said that the country needs 600,000 tonnes of soybean every year and 250,000 tons of soybean grist. Compared to this, 150 to 200 thousand tons are being produced, 60-70 percent of the soybean produced are sold on the outside markets, as the high quality gmo-free products can be marketed at a higher price. The missing quantity is replaced by cheaper gmo products from abroad. (MTI)
