Butter prices rose twofold
Food prices may became more expensive this year, due to the increase in the price of butter – Origo wrote. Butter prices have doubled this year, due to unfavorable weather, an EU regulation and rising demand. We can not be expect price decline for many months.
Europe suffers from the lack of butter. This is due to the growing demand for butter, but the milk supply is low. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), butter prices doubled in 2017.
This price increase has a key ipmportance. Sooner or later it will be reflected in the price of other food products, especially in the prices of sweets and pastries. (origo)
