Improved consumer sentiment in the US
Consumer sentiment has improved substantially in October in the United States – according to the consumer sentiment index of the University of Michigan and Reuters.
The October consumer sentiment index rose to 90.0 points, from the 87.2 points of September. A year before in October 2014, the value of the index was 86.9 points. Analysts expected 92.5 points for October.
The consumer confidence improved with the highest degree in October. The index increased to 82.1 points from the 78.2 points of September. A year before, the value of the index was 79.6 points. (MTI)
