The European Parliament is discussing the report on honey at the end of February
The European Parliament (MEP) will discuss the report on MEPs’ plenary session on 28 February, and the MEPs will vote on this document on 1 March – Erdős Norbert, MEP of Fidesz, the submitter of the report on the situation of the sector, said at a press conference in Budapest on Sunday.
The MEP said: improving the situation of the beekeeping sector is important because 76 percent of food production is affected by bees, ie virtually no food production is possible without the sector. In addition, 20 percent of honey coming to the EU from third countries are falsified. This is causing enormous damage to the beekeepers in the EU member states. (MTI)
