The gap between the wealthiest and the poorest EU member states declined but remains huge
Although last year, as in previous years, the gap between the richest and poorest countries in the European Union, Luxembourg and Bulgaria has became somewhat smaller, but there is still a huge difference, according to a report released by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).
Luxembourg remains the best in terms of purchasing power parity, the gross domestic product per capita (GDP) and the actual individual consumption per capita (AIC) in the 28-member community, while Bulgaria’s lag is huge, compared to the mid-field. According to the data, the situation in the 28 EU Member States has changed very little in the previous three years. (MTI)
