Vodafone Supertower
This year Sziget fans will be welcomed by the sight of a 10 floors high tower-complex at the center of the festival venue. The Vodafone supertower will host DJ programs, mobile games and provide several services, including free internet.
The 30 metres high supertower can quickly become the symbol of Sziget Festival. The tower is the highest building in the history of Hungarian festivals and will present over 250 square meters of LED walls, while also serving as a look-out tower for fans. Providing a 21 Mbit/sec mobile net service is also part of the deal to make sure you can enjoy your smartphone anytime. At night the tower will turn into an audiovisual theatre, using 1.5 million LED units to present the play titled ’With lightspeed into the future’, presented by ’Kiégő Izzók’, an internationally known visual art group. Vodafone also takes many other entertaining programs to Sziget Festival, introducing the newest gadgets of IT and mobile communication, thus showing a different way of living in the island.
Back to the supertower: the weight including the led walls is 15 tons and the construction is covered by 1500 square metres of textile and plastic… a giant in itself. You will also find a 200 square metre terrace at 14 metres height, connecting the different parts of the tower complex. The terrace will host the best Hungarian DJ sets from 4PM till morning each day. Special elevators will be used to take Sziget fans this high and even higher, as the look-out part will be right on the top at 30 metres.
The Supertower will also give you services closer to the ground. 200 free phone charger stations, a Vodafone shop, a Game Zone for the lovers of mobile games and a Net Garden with free internet on 30 laptops, 25 tablet PCs and 25 smartphones awaits fans throughout the festival.
