Two Polish workers have been awarded compensation of GBP 17,000 from their former employer in Scotland. They had to put up with continuos verbal abuse and harassment by their employer and work in two continuos shifts. According to the court ruling, foreign employees have the same rights as the local workforce. It is important to know for Eastern Europeans arriving in the UK to find work, that the British justice system can and will protect their rights. Many foreign employers work in the UK without a written contract.
