UK retail sales fell in August unexpectedly
Contrary to expectations, UK retail sales fell in August, although they still exceed pre-coronavirus levels.
According to the British Bureau of Statistics (ONS) on Friday, the value of retail sales was 0.9 percent lower than the previous month.
The consensus average of analyst forecasts predicted a 0.5 percent monthly increase in traffic for August.
August was the fourth consecutive month in which the value of UK retail monthly turnover fell. (MTI)
