EU action is needed to protect European rice production – Fazekas Sándor, Minister of Agriculture, told – the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) informed MTI.
The FM told that Fazekas Sándor at the EU’s Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting said that rice cultivation has future in Europe and in Hungary only if the same conditions apply to rice from external countries as production within the EU. The panel was dealing with rice cultivation for the first time. The Member States asked European Commission to take the necesarry actions. (MTI)
