A new chapter has opened in the history of Pizza Hut: The restaurant chain can be renewed based on the Hungarian model
On September 12, the ribbon was cut on Pizza Hut’s first restaurant with a modern dine-in concept on the most popular pedestrian street in Pécs. The chain’s store in the Baranya county seat closed more than 20 years ago, and the people of Pécs have been waiting ever since to be able to enjoy the offerings of the world-famous restaurant chain again.
The first Pizza Hut opened in the United States in 1958 based on the idea of Dan and Frank Carney. The chain is currently present in more than 90 countries.
“Pizza Hut started as a classic, sit-down restaurant when the brothers invented it, but it had to constantly adapt to the needs of the times, which is why Fast Casual Delivery, or the quick-service system, was born earlier,” recalled the director of Pizza Hut in Hungary. “In our new franchise restaurant in Pécs, we combine the old style with 21st century customs, a traditional restaurant has been created, with a new digital service system, which is unique in the company’s restaurant portfolio,”
– added Miklós Kozák.
The director listed the advantages of the innovation as the fact that guests are accompanied to their table by a hostess, from then on they manage their time themselves, place their order, pay when they want, and can decide whether to use the waiter service.
