The idyllic days are over
In 2017 Hungarian shoppers ordered products online approximately 33 million times and 70 percent of these were delivered by the logistics partners of online shops. Very often delivery was free for the buyers. However, these idyllic times required sacrifices from both logistics companies and retailers, and this year shoppers will already feel the effects of the recent price increases – revealed this year’s second study of GKI Digital and Árukereső.hu’s Online Retail Index survey series. GLS delivered the most parcels last year. According to the study, offering free delivery as a marketing strategy isn’t sustainable anymore and the price increase trend that started at the end of last year continued in the first quarter of 2018. The trend is likely to prevail in the second half of the year too. //
