Average earnings continued to increase
According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office, in February 2025, the gross average salary exceeded 661 thousand forints, which represents an increase of 56 thousand forints, or 9.3 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year – Sándor Czomba, State Secretary for Employment Policy at the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), drew attention in his statement.

He recalled that in order to curb food prices, it has introduced a margin reduction for 30 basic food categories, which can be purchased on average 18.6 percent cheaper.
