Euronics continues to expand – with two new stores and more than 5,000 collection points
Euronics is heading into the holiday season with significant improvements and a new scenario. By mid-November, two new stores were opened in Dunaharaszti and Kecskemét, but the number of pick-up points is also expanding significantly. The company, which distributes technical goods and consumer electronics products, has a total of 67 stores and 5,400 receiving locations, and the number of the latter may reach 8,500 next year as a result of the merger of Foxpost and Packeta. Instead of this year’s Black Friday, sales lasting almost a month will help customers make informed decisions. This year, for the first time, a wish list was used to assess what the customers wanted the most, and the information collected in this way helped to tailor offers to the expectations as best as possible.
In the past period, the Black Friday season has been transformed in accordance with customer needs. In a decade-long perspective, customers used to have special offers on one or two specific days, but now this period has become much longer, typically lasting several weeks in November.
Euronics also prepared for November with sales lasting almost a month, while Black Friday will be on November 15. With this year’s Black November campaign, it supports smart shopping so that consumers buy products that they actually use, instead of unnecessary impulse purchases. During Black November, Black Friday and the Christmas season, the aim is therefore for customers to choose quality, long-lasting products while avoiding unnecessary purchases.
Customers are selective: TV and coffee maker are the most popular
“That’s why this year, for the first time, we used a wish list to assess what customers want the most, and the information collected in this way helps us to adapt offers to the expectations as best as possible. In two weeks, as many people used the wish list function as otherwise in 4 months, and most people saved a TV, coffee maker, heat pump dryer, smartphone and front-loading washing machine among their wishes.
said Tibor Metykó, chief customer officer of Euronics.
Also popular were the combination refrigerator with sub-freezer, the laptop, the manual vacuum cleaner, the built-in oven and the airfryer. Currently, customers can access more than 25,000 products in the webshop, of which every fifth product is on sale during Black November. Every third of the products on the wish list has been significantly discounted by the supermarket chain, for example, nearly 200 of the more than 300 televisions can now be obtained at a lower price.
