Spain received more than 36 million foreign tourists in the first half of the year
The number of tourists visiting Spain has exceeded 36.3 million in the first half of this year, 11.6 percent more than in the same period last year, the Spanish Statistical Office (INE) announced on Monday.
Most of them, about 8.6 million, still came from Great Britain to the South European country, which also received 5.5 million Germans and 4.7 million French visitors between January and June.
From the US, 1.2 million tourists have chosen Spain, 40 percent more than in the first half of last year.
In June, a total of 8.6 million people traveled to Spain from other countries. (MTI)
