Record turnover of sweets in December 2013
Food retail achieved a record turnover from selling sweets last December. People spent more than ever 2.7 billion HUF to around 650 tonnes of sweet gifts – the Nielsen Retail Index reveals among other facts.
The revenue of the stores during November-December exceeded the same period of the previous year by 10 percent. In terms of quantity the stores sold 1 percent more from one November -December period to the next one.
The biggest hit was the chocolate Santa Claus figure, on which the custmers spent nearly 18 percent more, 1.7 billion HUF in the last two months of 2013 than in the November -December period of a year before.
