Packaging not only protects goods but also stimulates shopping. Environmental aspects are increasingly important in both production and logistics. Dunapack’s packaging solutions meet even the most demanding partners’ requirements. They also offer free maintenance service, which ranges from technical assistance to screening partners’ current packaging solutions. Zsuzsanna Zsebő, the company’s marketing director told our magazine that they have products for practically all sectors of the industry. The Kecskemét plant of STI Petőfi Printing House Kft. uses offset technology for manufacturing folding carton and cardboard boxes, POS products, offset- and flexo-technology self-adhesive labels.

The company’s Budapest display production facility uses digital printing technology. Sales director György Kolozsvári told us that their machinery was expanded with a modern, seven- and a six-colour KBA-type printing machine, with which innovative ideas can be executed. SCA Packaging focuses on tailor-made packaging solutions, stressing the importance of the latest designs and on-the-spot customer service. Marketing and sales director Judit Vaszilkó informed us that their Budapest-seated design centre recommends integrated solutions for market players, most of the time engaging in joint thinking with partners within the framework of workshops. Sz-Variáns Packaging Technology Kft. uses all kinds of technology, from offset printing to box gluing machinery. Their design plotter makes it possible to consult with partners already in the designing phase. Sales director Iván Katona emphasised that practically every idea can be put into practice but it is important to know that for manufacturing smaller quantities different solutions are more economical. Dunapack’s experience is that partners are looking for cheaper packaging materials and solutions. This year the company expanded their range of light cardboard materials. Sz-Variáns observed a trend for the secondary usage of packaging: for instance if a consumer does not throw a box away, it becomes an advertising surface. STI Petőfi conducts surveys to find out about the latest trends and informs partners about these. They sense that partners are demanding more cost-effective solutions but together with other STI plants, they are working on the same digital platform, which means that they have rapid access to STI solutions in other parts of the world. Their latest innovation is a special paint that makes it possible to put two prints on the same sheet in one go. Under UV light colour photos appear on the seemingly clear white surface. Nefab is present in 44 countries with industrial packaging materials. Business development manager Tibor Bátki told us that trends in this sector last for 5-10 years because project approach characterises the market. Currently recycled solutions are in the focus – because of cost cutting and environmental reasons.
