Stricter tracking rules
In October 2015 the Ministry of Agriculture and GS1 Hungary signed a cooperation agreement on establishing the National Food Tracking Platform. The platform’s objective is to help enterprises in their work with informing them about rules and regulations, showing them best practices, establishing the necessary connections and doing lobbying. Work is organised into 5 working groups, from which the Horizontal Working Group focuses on the short supply chain, Horeca units and public sector catering.
In the Vertical Working Groups (fish and meat, milk and dairy products, fruits and vegetables, wine and pálinka) members have already designated the supply chains for which they are going to develop the tracking methodology. GS1 Hungary’s experts have presented those standard elements in these working groups that can be used effectively in automatic tracking solutions. They also informed members about international guidelines that can help them build the system of tracking. Tracking audits have also been performed. (x)
