“Recently value for money has been in the spotlight. This led to an increase in sales of larger formats and duo packs. More and more people are switching to electric toothbrushes, which take oral care to a higher level. Consumers prefer therapeutic toothpastes, especially the sensitive versions. These not only clean, but also have special features such as gum protection or tooth enamel protection”,
says Yvette Krubl, corporate communications manager for Central Europe at Procter & Gamble.
Most Hungarians still use a toothbrush for several months or up to a year, as opposed to the recommended 3-monthly replacement.
Johnny Jiang, chief marketing officer of Oclean in Europe adds: convenience and personalisation are increasingly important in oral care.
User experience
Procter & Gamble is present in the entire oral care segment, with the Oral B, Blend-a-med and Blend-a-dent ranges, providing a wide choice to meet a variety of needs. They offer Oral-B electric and manual toothbrushes, mouthwashes, flosses and therapeutic toothpastes. Blend-a-med and Blend-a-dent have a large selection of toothpastes and denture adhesives. Many people are discovering that electric toothbrushes, especially Oral-B’s micro-vibration technology offer benefits that are rarely achieved by a manual brushing routine. According to research by the company, the Oral-B electric toothbrush removes 100% more plaque than the manual version. At P&G they pay special attention to the user experience, including toothpaste colour, foam, texture and creaminess, which are all important factors when choosing and using toothpaste.
A century of experience
Target Sales Group Kft.’s Jordan brand is becoming increasingly popular.
“For little ones it is a good idea to start brushing as soon as their first teeth appear, and one of our most successful products, the Jordan 2-in-1 baby toothbrush helps in this. It has special ergonomic design and a soft chewing section”,
says brand manager Zsuzsa Juhász-Tabár.
For Jordan sustainability is also a priority. One of their prides is the Green Clean Change toothbrush, which is made from recycled plastic and sustainably sourced vegetable bristles, plus it has a replaceable head. For nearly 100 years, the Jordan brand has been dedicated to helping people achieve good oral hygiene. The newly launched Gum Protector product range is designed to protect and soothe the gums.
In accordance with market trends and innovations, Oclean’s main goal is to make oral care easier and better for everyone, using advanced technology and smart solutions.
“Recently we have introduced our latest innovation, Oclean X Ultra. This innovative product uses AI-powered voice control and bone conduction technology to provide real-time feedback for more effective brushing. It is always up-to-date, with the latest software versions automatically updated through a built-in WiFi connection”,
informs Johnny Jiang.
Oclean has also developed its own software, the Oclean Care+ app, available on iOS and Android. The app allows users to track their brushing habits and can give access to third-party providers such as dental clinics or insurance companies. //
