The apple harvest will be weak
Apple harvest has begun in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, where more than half of the country's apple-growing area can be found – said the main village economist of the regional government office on Tuesday.
In the Nyírség, 15,772 hectares of cultivated land with apple is registered, which is the 55 percent of the country's more than 28 thousand acres of apple growing area. On the 6th of May, a significant frost occurred in the apple gardens, and 80 – 90 percent of the crop was frozen, so a weak harvest is expected – reports MTI.
