Last year, the production and turnover of Hungarian beer companies increased, compared to the previous year, but it was still lower than in 2019. The proportion of premium and non-alcoholic beers among the products increased further, Kántor Sándor, director of the Association of Hungarian Brewers, told MTI.

Beer turnover increased last year but not yet, compared to 2019

The combined sales of the five most significant breweries present in Hungary (Borsodi Sörgyár Kft., Carlsberg Hungary Kft., Dreher Sörgyárak Zrt., Heineken Hungária Zrt., and Pécsi Sörfőzde Zrt.) in 2010 were 6.370 million hectoliters, which is 3.1 percent more than by 2020, but 4.7 percent below the total turnover of 6.682 million hectoliters in 2019. Domestic production was 5.568 million hectoliters last year, 3.5 percent more than the previous year, but 5.9 percent less than the 5.915 million hectoliters production in 2019. (MTI)
