The number of Hungarian tourists in Croatia is close to a record
After a two-year decline due to the coronavirus pandemic, the data of Hungarian tourists in Croatia is approaching the 2019 record this year, the Croatian Tourist Association (HTZ) told MTI on Wednesday on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its presence in Hungary.

Hungarians love Croatia
Ivana Herceg, the director of HTZ’s representative office in Budapest, highlighted at the event held on the occasion of the organization’s jubilee that 2019 was the most successful year so far, after the data of Hungarian tourists exceeded 3 million guest nights in Croatia for the first time. After a two-year decline due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Hungarians approached this record again this year, after 595.8 thousand tourists spent 3 million 44 thousand nights in the Adriatic state.
In the record year of 2019, 644,000 Hungarian guests spent almost 3.3 million nights in Croatia. Irena Persic Zivadinov, director of the Kvarner Tourist Association, indicated at the anniversary commemoration: nearly a third of Hungarian tourists choose Kvarner, i.e. the Seaside-Hegyvidék county, as their holiday destination, Crikvenica, Opatija (Opatija), Rab, Krk and Lopar are among the most visited Croatian destinations. is included. Compared to last year, Hungarians spent 32 percent more guest nights in this region this year, the data is close to 2019.
