György Zsolt Papp was elected president of the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy
The National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) held its national delegate meeting on September 13, 2024, where the organization’s new president was elected.
At the delegate meeting, István Jakab, President of the Association of Hungarian Farmers’ Associations and Farmers’ Cooperatives, Sándor Farkas, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences, greeted the participants.
The delegates – by unanimous vote – elected György Zsolt Papp as the chairman of the public body
György Zsolt Papp is the president of the Association of Hungarian Farmers’ Associations and Farmers’ Associations (MAGOSZ) Young Farmers’ Section. He was born in 1981, is a practicing farmer and obtained his degree in agricultural engineering at the University of Debrecen. Previously, he worked as a plant manager in the food industry, then as a specialist referent at the Office of Agriculture and Rural Development, and headed the Agricultural and Rural Development Support Department of the Hajdú-Bihar County Government Office. From 2020, he is the deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture – first responsible for rural development, then responsible for the implementation of rural development programs. In the course of his activities, he has effectively assisted the work of the Chamber of Agriculture and the representation of its members’ interests. At the current national delegate meeting, only the person of the president was decided, the presidency of the chamber will continue its work unchanged.
