The army review, first organized in 1881, is an outstanding celebration of Hungarian agriculture, a celebration of the Hungarian land, a celebration of farmers and of all those who operate agriculture every day, said the deputy minister. He said that the aim of OMÉK is also to present high-quality Hungarian food products, and to ensure that Hungarian agricultural products have a suitable market both domestically and abroad. At this year’s OMÉK, professional participants can learn about the activities of the AMC, which helps domestic companies enter the foreign market and makes Hungarian products as widely known as possible on the international stage. According to their hopes, tens of thousands of people will visit the three-day series of events again this year.
Péter Ondré, the managing director of the AMC, said: OMÉK presents a slice of the Hungarian countryside and Hungarian tradition, at which this year there will also be a farmers’ fair
In the professional program, agricultural machinery and the food industry are included in numerous conferences, and they also provide a professional forum for the actors of the sector to discuss the current issues of the agricultural economy. The important task of OMÉK is to contribute to the expansion of the knowledge base of the rising age group, therefore they host about ten thousand vocational school students and also hold the cookery school’s cooking competition. In the native yard, you will see the multitude of animal species and breeds bred in Hungary and protected native Hungarian farm animals, including the Hungarian gray cattle, the Carpathian badger cattle, the Hungarian wild ass, the Kovaszna yellow-headed berke, and the Gyimes racka sheep.
According to the organizers’ hopes, at least fifty thousand people will visit the three-day event this year, along with the fact that OMÉK’s budget will be lower due to the economic situation.
