Norbi baking something new for us!
Following the Update system, Norbert Schobert has come up with another project: bakery products which don’t make us fat. His objective for 2009 is to open at least 300 Norbi bakeries, where low calorie versions of classic bakery products will be sold. This will allow people to consume sweets without feeling guilt. Well known flavours are to be retained in a slightly altered form. As a result of a five year development process, a special formula composed of plant proteins and fibres has been developed. 95 percent of carbohydrates are prevented from being digested, while it also serves as a substitute for flour. A market leading sliced bread in its category is made from this type of flour, which allows people to have sandwiches before going to bed and still not worry about gaining weight. A great advantage of Update hyper dietary products is that only a minimal part of carbohydrates are digested which means that such bakery products are perfect items of the Norbi Update assortment. A further advantage is that these products are made without added sugar, which has been replaced by a sweetener made from malt. There is no fat or preservatives either. The products come with the official recommendation of the National Association of Diabetes Patients. There will be absolutely no artificial additives and colourings in the Norbi Update organic products to be launched in January. 100 potential partners in the nation-wide franchise chain have already registered. 10-13 square meter Independent or in-store bakeries can be set up at an initial cost of only HUF 2 million. “I want to boost sales instead of taking away a lot of profit from retailers” – says Norbert Schobert. The objective is to set up a retail system of his own, with Norbi bakeries serving as the flagship of the Update system. The bakery products made their debut at this year’s Franchise Expo and turned out to be highly successful. “My target group is very different from the classic target group of bakery products, as it is people suffering from diabetes or those who want to lose weight.” – added Norber Schobert.
