The world's rice production is increasing
This year, the global rice production will rise slightly, but the international rice trade will decline, due to the existing high stocks.
According to the latest report of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the global rice production will increase by 1.1 percent to 749.8 million tonnes in 2015. However, 2.5 percent less, 41.3 million tonnes will circulate in the international trade.
The world's largest rice exporter remains Thailand with 11.2 million tonnes, followed by India with 9.3 million tonnes and Vietnam with 6.5 million tonnes. These three countries give 65 percent of the world rice exports. (tozsdeforum.hu, MTI)
